Alan Payne, Senior Consultant

Alan joined Metapraxis in August 2006, after graduating in Economics from the University of Essex. Prior to his degree course he completed his Assocation of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification with the Chartered Accountants, Day, Smith and Hunter.

“I joined Metapraxis because I wanted to work for a small and focused company where I could quickly get involved in project work, and where I had the chance to make an impression. Since joining, I’ve had the opportunity to work for senior clients at a number of different blue-chip companies, and I’ve been impressed with the level of responsibility I’ve been given in a short space of time. Consultants are required to take the Diploma in Financial Management, and I decided to get this done soon after joining. It was hard work trying to fit in all of the exams and coursework alongside my work – consultants usually take the exams across several sittings – but I’m glad I did so because I passed everything comfortably and was awarded the Diploma in Financial Management in February 2007.”

James Lamb, Consultant

James Lamb joined Metapraxis in September 2008 after studying at Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University. He graduated with an MA (Hons) in Economics. James completed the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and is studying for his CIMA professional exams which he is due to complete in mid 2012. James has worked on project assignments in the Retail, Insurance, Property, Advertising, Engineering and Outsourcing Sectors. James enjoys sport in particular sailing and running.

“I had experience of setting up a student storage business and therefore knew after University I wanted to work for a small entrepreneurial company, where I could make an immediate impact. Soon after joining, I was involved in helping to bring several new projects to market, through presentations to potential clients and partners. I have greatly enjoyed being given early responsibility and the direction to develop client relationships, and I quickly started to drive the creation of additional consultancy revenue. I have also been impressed with the focus on excellence in everything we do throughout the life-cycle of a project.”

Matthew Jones, Senior Analyst

Matthew recently joined Metapraxis as an analyst after graduating from the University of Bath with an MMath (Hons) degree in Mathematics. He is currently gaining experience by working on a project for one of Metapraxis’s largest clients and is studying towards the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.  In his spare time Matthew is a keen guitarist and an avid tennis player.

‘Despite having an offer from another larger consultancy I decided that I wanted to join Metapraxis due the strong relationships they have with their clients and for the chance to work on projects throughout their life cycle. The friendly atmosphere between the professional team at Metapraxis was also a key reason behind my decision.’

Colwyn Williams, Senior Analyst

Colwyn graduated from Cambridge University in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Anthropology.  He went on to work in market research, gaining knowledge of the UK Retail sector with Datamonitor, before joining Metapraxis in 2010.  As an Analyst he works closely with clients across a range of sectors. Colwyn is a keen footballer and enjoys spending weekends out of London.

‘Rather than being constrained by a rigid Graduate Recruitment Scheme and subsequently being pigeon-holed into a role, I wanted to gain client exposure and work autonomously in a meritocratic environment.  In joining the team at  Metapraxis I believe I have found a multifaceted line of work which is really suited to anyone who has similar aspirations as myself –  in being both client-facing and technical; it is rewarding in different ways.   We offer our clients a brand of analysis which is incisive and direct, and it follows that our time spent working is equally focused.   My work has taken me across different industry verticals and locations.’
