Information technology research and advisory firm Gartner has recently published its latest Market Guide for Specialty Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting (BP&F) Applications.This guide includes an overview of the BP&F function with Corporate Performance Management (CPM). It recommends that finance professionals “evaluate whether specialty BP&F solutions can be used stand-alone or in conjunction with CPM suite solutions to improve BP&F processes throughout the organization”. This is particularly the case “when functional requirements are not met by CPM suite BP&F solutions and/or when additional functionality is required to support specific business domains, industries or BP&F processes”.
